General conclusion

LDP is an integral part of MPLS (see [IP 2 905] ), and is available (for IPv4) on virtually all core network equipment. It is in the process of becoming so for IPv6. The maturity of MPLS equipment and, consequently, of LDP implementations, which are beginning to interoperate successfully, means that developers can draw on LDP to offer stable, easily scalable versions of CR-LDP. Numerous extensions are envisaged, and the tools offered in LDP to support manufacturers' extensions greatly facilitate the testing and deployment of new solutions.
