2. A secure, high-performance smart metering infrastructure
Concentrator: a device that centralizes the data sent by communicating meters in the same cluster, via PLC, and sends the data back to the Enedis information systems via the GPRS network. It can also send simple commands to the meters, and communicates with them periodically to check their operating status.
700,000 concentrators will be installed on the Enedis network, inside MV/LV substations or in special cabinets on pylons, to cover the entire smart metering network.
