2. Internet of Things as an interface for urban management
For human beings, cities used to be just a place to live and a place for social and economic exchange in their daily lives. Then, the city itself gradually became almost a living being, evolving in parallel with human society. This kind of synergy between man and city is becoming even more evident with the Internet of Things.
In 2018, there are around 8 billion mobile terminals worldwide. And forecasts claim that traffic will increase 7-8 times between 2015 and 2020, with over 11 billion terminals including Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices. This means approximately 1.5 terminals per capita.
