In addition to the tcpm (TCP Maintenance and Minor Extensions) and tsvwg (Transport Area Working Group) groups at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the End-to-End group at the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), two other IRTF working groups may be of interest for the topics studied here:

  • the performance evaluation of transport protocols in the Internet world is currently the focus of the TMRG (Transport Modeling Research Group) working group. Its main objective is to define performance metrics, as well as standard evaluation scenarios and tools, particularly for the study of congestion control mechanisms. The evaluation of other aspects of transport protocols, such as security, is also the focus of this group's work;

  • the recently created Internet Congestion Control Research Group (ICCRG) focuses...
