3. Service architecture

Architecture is defined as the discipline of system design and construction in the broadest sense, and consists of a set of concepts, principles and rules to be applied during system design. By analogy, TINA-C service architecture defines a set of concepts, principles and rules needed to specify and implement TINA [13] services.

A TINA service, like any other service, is a set of goods and functionalities that a service provider offers to a customer or service subscriber. The TINA service architecture must accommodate three categories of service:
