Message ; Message

Useful information to be transported (e.g. measured temperature, GPS position, hydrometric level, etc.).

Packet or frame; Paquet ou trame

Set of bits, sent on the transmission medium, containing, in particular, the message. Several packets can carry the same message, to provide redundancy and increase the chances of receiving the message at least once.

Matching filter

Optimal linear filter to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for a known signal in the presence of noise.

Base station; Station de base

Equipment equipped with a transceiver antenna with which mobile devices (nodes) communicate. It acts as a gateway between mobile nodes and the rest of the network and associated services....
