Technology and journalism have always been closely linked. Since the 2000s, major digital newsroom projects have been underway. AI is developing in this field, sometimes even without the knowledge of journalists (e.g. sorting of subjects, sources, etc.).

This section is about AI applications in journalism and information (news), particularly in the broadcast world. It is based on a report by EBU/UER (European Broadcasting Union/Union Européenne de Radio-Télévision) News Report 2019, published at the end of 2019.
