2. Cognitive immersion and interaction
The interfacing of a user with an artificial environment depends on the technology employed (the interfaces) and the user's sensorimotor and cognitive behaviors, the latter being inseparable. A theoretical approach to interfacing, called behavioral interfacing, implies two important criteria of this interfacing: its transparency and its coherence. In the context of cognitive immersion and interaction, we need to clarify how the user will feel and perceive this immersion in an artificial environment. Will it be complete or not? Will he perceive his body in a similar way to that in the real world? Will his or her actions (or interactions) in the artificial environment be natural or artificial?
