3.1 Abel Gance's "Triptyque" (1927)

Renowned French filmmaker Abel Gance is considered a pioneer of French cinema. An innovator and poet to the core, he set out to explore the aesthetic resources of film [42] . Convinced of the need to revolutionize traditional cinema, in 1926 he perfected an artistic invention that prefigured the giant-screen projection of the 1950s, and in particular Cinérama [2] .
