7. Electromagnetic methods

7.1 Basic principle

There are two main types of electromagnetic method, depending on the frequency f of variation of the electromagnetic field observed.

First, we define the characteristic frequency : $f_{c} = \frac{1}{2 π} \frac{σ}{ε} = \frac{1}{2 π} \frac{1}{ρ ε} = \frac{18 \cdot 10^{9}}{ρ ε_{r}}$
