Atmospheric aerosols, generally less than 10 µm in diameter, are easily transported from their emission zone over distances of up to several thousand kilometers. They therefore influence the environment on different spatial scales, from local to global. They have a significant impact on climate by directly or indirectly modulating the amount of solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface . They also have a significant effect on health and economic development
