4. Experimental strategy and measurement synergy

In order to explain the contribution of lidar measurements to atmospheric aerosol research, actual observations have been considered throughout this paragraph. The example selected highlights the contribution made by lidar observation in itself, as well as the additional observation and modelling required to improve our understanding of processes involving atmospheric aerosols, and thus provide better forecasting tools.
