Traitement Automatique des Langues (TAL); natural language processing

NLP is a branch of artificial intelligence whose aim is to analyze (but also generate) textual data, usually unstructured, by means of multi-level linguistic processing:

• word level. This is known as morphological and lexical analysis;

• the proposition or sentence level. This is known as syntactic analysis;

• the text or document level. This is discourse analysis;

• the pragmatic level, which enables us to understand the meaning of words/phrases/texts in context.
