3. Certification considerations

The approach of standardization is very different, depending on whether or not the sector, and therefore the products from these sectors, are subject to certification against the sector's reference standard. This section deals more specifically with the different approaches to certification in different sectors.

3.1 Certification principles

Certification practices for operating safety requirements vary from one field to another. First of all, there is the problem of semantics.
