5. Conclusion

Cloud computing has revolutionized enterprise IT by significantly reducing infrastructure costs, which are generally divided by a factor of approximately four, but potentially much more if the customer is able to finely configure the orchestration of their services (which requires advanced and costly skills).

There are two main pitfalls to avoid when adopting cloud infrastructure:

• becoming locked into a technical and contractual architecture that makes it very difficult to change operators or revert to an on-premises solution;

• believe that since applications and data have moved to the cloud, there is no longer a need for internal expertise.
