4. Conclusion

In this first article, we set out to explain the principles underpinning the Semantic Web and the changes it brings to our vision of the Web as a highly connected Web of data (of which documents are just one type). We sought to explain the nature of semantic representations, the major role of the RDF model and the central role of ontologies in a context of widespread interoperability.

In the second part, we'll start by explaining the various technologies proposed within the framework of the Semantic Web, of which languages, although central, are only one part. Then, although it's impossible to give an account of all the work being done using WS technologies in different contexts (the open Web, but also the enterprise Web), we'll present a number of different achievements.
