4. Understanding the request
Today's search engines have been making great efforts for several years to better understand the query typed into the search form by the surfer. Google's algorithms include Hummingbird, Rankbrain, Deeprank (or BERT), MUM and others. The aim of all these algorithms is to identify the query (or search intention) requested, and to analyze it more effectively, based on the proximity (geographical and semantic) of terms to each other, their meaning, possible polysemy (the same word having several meanings, such as orange, jaguar or apache), etc. These new algorithms, which take into account numerous artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, make search engines somewhat "smarter" and, by better understanding what the surfer wants, enable us to better identify the best response available on the Web.
