Salutary hardware (salware) to protect the intellectual property of designers

An interesting solution for protecting the intellectual property of integrated circuit designers is to control the distribution of their circuits by inserting salutary hardware , the aim of which is to prevent the use of a circuit without the designer's authorization. Finally, the goal is to develop a chain of licenses for the use of hardware, essential for both IP and IC designers. This is what we will discuss in this chapter, starting with ways of blocking a circuit during manufacture for post-foundry activation.
