2. Counterfeit detection

2.1 Physical detection

Detecting counterfeit integrated circuits in the supply chain is a major challenge for many manufacturers, particularly those in the most sensitive sectors such as the military and aeronautics. These manufacturers may have their own counterfeit detection departments, or they may call on the services of companies specialized in this work, such as Serma Technologies and Tronico. These specialist companies operate a wide range of measuring instruments in their dedicated laboratories, and develop counterfeit detection methods. It should be noted that serious brokers are increasingly seeking to detect counterfeits as early as possible, so as to be able to offer their customers genuine products with complete confidence, using the same physical detection techniques....
