2.1 Causes of information security incidents

When we look at the origins of security incidents within a company, we see that the majority are still of internal origin, and that for attacks of external origin, the main vulnerabilities used are :

• insufficiently aware employees clicking on malicious links (e-mails, SMS), thus opening the door to external intrusions;

• the presence of password-listening software on host networks during remote connections;

• poor management...
