7. Evolution of the Common Criteria

7.1 Evolution process

The CCs, and the associated evaluation method (CEM), are modified to keep pace with technological developments, but also to take account of experience gained from product evaluations carried out by the various evaluation centers in member countries. A steering committee known as the CCDB (Common Criteria Development Board) ensures the maintenance of the CC and CEM by handling requests for modifications (Change Proposals, CP) from the CCMRA.
