Nomadism

Nomadic users are the most frequent users of SSL VPNs. A nomad connects to an SSL gateway, enabling him or her to access a range of intranet resources by authenticating only once. Such equipment is similar to a reverse proxy server, offering the following services:

• gateway and nomad authentication ;

• HTTP/HTTPS gas pedal, i.e. performance enhancement through HTTP caching and SSL connection concentration functions;

• translation of HTTP links, i.e. rewriting the links of HTML pages consulted to make them accessible (§ 4.3.1.1
