6. Technical and economic approach

It is always difficult to approximate the costs of a preventive system or a curative process for pollutant emissions. However, the table at 13 gives an order of magnitude of investment and operating costs (reagents, energy) for this type of treatment, for a number of heavy industry activities (iron and steel and aluminum) and household waste incineration plants. These values may vary according to the performance required or the specific characteristics of the industrial site.
