In accordance with the above concept, the book's treatment of the principles on which electrolytic processes are based is subdivided into five articles, the first of which describes – Electrochemistry. Preliminaries to the study of electrolysis – the various processes generally involved in electrolytic cells; then, in a second stage – Electrochemistry: laws governing the processes, the physico-chemical laws governing these various processes; then the overall theoretical characterization of these processes by current-potential characteristics will be described – Electrochemistry.
