1. Choosing a drying process

Drying is a thermal separation operation that consists in removing all or part of the liquid impregnating a "wet" body by vaporizing the solvent. The final product is a solid, qualified as "dry" even if it contains residual moisture.

1.1 Methodology

For a given application, the drying process must enable the desired quantity of liquid to be vaporized in an acceptable time, and the wet material to be processed or transported to produce a dry product of acceptable quality in equipment of appropriate size and cost, in complete safety and with minimum impact on the environment.
