4. Conditions for the discharge of industrial wastewater

The decree of February 2, 1998 (replacing the decrees of January 1, 1993, and April 25, 1995, which have been repealed) constitutes the regulatory reference applicable to the vast majority of classified facilities subject to authorization.

It should be noted, however, that certain industrial activities are not affected because they are regulated by other decrees. This is particularly the case for surface treatment (decree of September 26, 1985), the glass industry (decree of May 14, 1993), the paper industry (decree of January 6, 1994), and cement plants (decree of May 3, 1993).

For discharges into surface waters, the texts of the 1993 and 1995 decrees defined all the provisions aimed at preventing pollution of aquatic environments, namely discharge conditions, control procedures, and discharge limits (compatible with the quality...
