3. Example of absorption calculation

A gas consisting of air and hydrogen sulfide H 2 S (in low concentration) is to be purified using a packed column. The operating conditions are as follows:

  • water flow: 10 m 3 · h –1 ;

  • gas flow (air): 100 m 3 · h –1 ;

  • the temperature is a constant 20 °C ;

  • the pressure is 100 kPa ;

  • we use a filling of 1.25 cm Raschig rings.
