2.1 Flow calculation models (theoretical approach)

Membranes used in liquid separation can commonly be considered as ideal porous media, even if they have a marked two-dimensional character. This translates into a proportionality between the flux density obtained J and the applied pressure difference Δp, which is written (Darcy's law): $J = \frac{Δ p}{μ_{p} R_{h}} = L_{p} \frac{Δ p}{μ_{p}}$
