6. Conclusion

Wet granulation is a powder shaping technique widely used in many industrial sectors: pharmaceuticals, food processing, metallurgy and steelmaking, mineral chemistry, detergents, fertilizers, cosmetics, etc.

The principle behind this operation is to use a binder to form bonds between particles. As the binder is introduced in the form of a solution or suspension, understanding the physico-chemical interactions at play within the wet granular medium remains the key factor in controlling the process.
