5. Sequential solution — Simulation problem
Now that the complete process model has been formulated using a modular approach, it can be solved. In the presentation of the solving procedure, we will distinguish two cases: the first, in the absence of specification equations or equality constraints, is called the "pure simulation problem"; the second, dealt with in another section, is called the "design problem" or "controlled simulation problem".
