1.1 Technology as a body of knowledge

The term "technology" has become part of our everyday vocabulary, but it remains vague and commonplace. What's more, it's often misused to refer to new techniques such as those used in the information and communication sector (Nouvelles Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication NTIC): smartphones or the Internet.
