Spray drying, also known as spray drying, is a technique for shaping divided solids from a liquid mixture.

The latter is essentially composed of the solid material to be dried, dissolved or dispersed in a solvent to be removed . The mixture may be a simple liquid, such as an ideal solution, or a complex fluid in the form of a thicker or thinner dispersion, emulsion or gel. As with any drying technique, the principle of the operation is to evaporate the liquid present in the mixture by means of heat.
