We know that laser damage is a complex phenomenon that depends on numerous physical and operational parameters. Measuring the flux resistance of materials is a delicate problem, requiring a thorough understanding of test conditions.

Improving the flow resistance of materials and understanding the physical effects are still the subject of very active research, particularly in the ultrashort pulse regime, where numerous developments are underway.
