3. Solid-state laser systems with nonlinear crystal frequency converters

In this context, we have already mentioned in the previous section the use of certain rare-earth ion Nd 3+ laser systems and certain optically pumped semiconductor lasers (OPSL) emitting radiation in the blue-UV range after intracavity frequency doubling. Let's now look at these different systems more specifically, and not just as pumping sources.
