2. Monopod towers and their functions

This section deals with foundations subjected to horizontal forces and overturning moments at the head.

2.1 Surface foundations

This type of foundation can only be used for small-scale structures (traffic signs, advertising panels, etc.).

The horizontal force F h0 and the overturning moment M 0 must be combined with a compressive force V, which is often essentially made up of the foundation's own weight.
