5. Diffusion study methods

5.1 General

The main aim of experimental study of diffusion phenomena is to measure diffusion coefficients D (in volume, at joints, on the surface, under pressure, under electric field, etc.) and then determine the corresponding activation energies. These values are true physical constants, and are just as necessary as thermodynamic tables.
