Stress amplitude

Stress range between mean and maximum stress during cyclic loading.

Opening sensor; crack opening displacement extensometer

Extensometer sensor which, by measuring the aperture between the two blades of the sensor, enables the length of the propagated crack to be determined using the complacency method.

Mean stress

Average stress level on a cyclic signal.
