1.1 1000 series unalloyed aluminium

The properties of these shades depend essentially on :

  • impurity content (iron and silicon in particular);

  • any minor additions ;

  • hardening levels achieved by work-hardening or softening levels obtained by restoration and annealing.

Generally speaking, unalloyed aluminium has :

  • excellent plastic deformability;

  • relatively low mechanical strength;

  • excellent resistance to chemical agents and different atmospheres;

  • good welding, brazing and anodizing skills;...
