2. Shot-blasting
Parts obtained from de-sanding operations contain varying amounts of sand, depending mainly on their shape, the nature of the molding material and the de-sanding method used. Before demoulding, deburring or heat treatment, it is useful and often necessary to remove all or at least most of this sand by a sand removal operation specific to sand moulding, which can be completed by :
a descaling treatment after heat treatment;
a cleaning and finishing treatment to remove burrs, weld spatter, defects in appearance, etc. ;
a surface preparation treatment prior to painting, enamelling and other surface treatments;
