Watering; metal penetration

Casting defect, present on the surface of parts, resulting from the penetration of liquid alloy into the mold.

Crique ; hot tears

Hot tearing, which occurs during solidification in the presence of mechanical stress.

Criticality; hot tears ability

Ability of an alloy to form cracks as it cools.

Unwelcome; misrun

Defect corresponding to the absence of material in the casting, due to the cavity not being filled.
