2. Rotary flame furnace

2.1 Coating design

  • Ducts and chimney: these two zones are frequently lined with refractory bricks or concrete, and the average temperature reached is around 800°C. However, in the vicinity of the furnace outlet, it can reach 1,300°C. Depending on the furnace, this zone will be lined with a bauxite-based material to resist thermal shock. The alumina content will be between 60 and 70%. A thickness of 100 to 150 mm will be sufficient in most cases.

    The chimney zone, which is subject to much less stress, will be lined with a lightweight material (density ≤ 1.3) with an alumina content of around 45-50%.
