Agrégat polycristallin; polycrystalline aggregate

Polycrystalline solid made up of individual single-crystal crystallites, separated from each other by grain boundaries.

Geometrically necessary dislocations GND

Unlike statistical dislocations, which are randomly distributed, geometrically necessary GND dislocations are constructively arranged to achieve local plastic deformation of the crystal.
