5. Conclusion

In this dossier, we present examples of experimental designs widely used in surface treatments to screen factors and quantitatively determine their effects and interactions.

Above all, the examples discussed show that the various authors have made use of the many mathematical and statistical interpretation tools available in the literature. The results obtained have made it possible either to achieve the objectives assigned to each study, or to launch an optimization study using response surface methodology.
