2. Applications to different families of zinc alloys

Only ZP2, ZP3, ZP5 and ZP27 [4] alloys can be heat-treated for special applications.

2.1 ZP2, ZP3 and ZP5 alloys

ZP2, ZP3 and ZP5 alloys show different phase transformations during equilibrium cooling:

  • A eutectic reaction:

    Lβ+η

    This reaction occurs at 380°C (378 to 382°C depending on the author);

  • A eutectoid reaction:
