1. Bath maintenance

1.1 Deposit baths

The baths produce the desired results under two conditions:

  • the content of their basic constituents must remain within a more or less extensive, but clearly defined, compositional range;

  • impurities introduced or formed in the baths must not exceed certain concentration limits.

  • The longer the baths last, the more scrupulously their compositional requirements are respected. Without the addition of reagents or the elimination of impurities, bath composition evolves as a result of :

    • cathodic reactions ;

    • anodic...
