Continuous casting (CC) elements that have an impact on the metallurgical characteristics of the product are the only ones considered in this paragraph. These are :

• the submerged nozzle ;

• the ingot mould;

• lubricating powder or oil ;

• the product's mechanical support ;

• secondary cooling ;

• straightening (for curved machines) ;

• the cup ;

• evacuation ;

• electromagnetic stirrers.
