7. Hydrometallurgical processes

Whether it's concentrates from the mining and metallurgy industries or composite residues, hydrometallurgy of PGMs is virtually the only way to separate them. Dissolution takes place in an acidic oxidizing medium. Solution treatment with molten salts can also be effective and selective in certain cases.
