2. Main pollution and nuisances from steel plants

A relatively comprehensive review of environmental protection in the industrial environment was provided in the article Environmental protection in the industrial environment [A 8 650] .

As far as the steel industry in particular is concerned, the current situation can be summarized as follows:

• balances of major pollution generated or residual pollution (after purification), in two case studies (integrated plant with coking plant and mini-factory with rolling mill);

• the main technologies used to protect the environment.
