1. Organic matrix composites

The design and production of organic matrix composite (OMC) parts, particularly structural or large-scale parts, is a major challenge in many industrial sectors: transport, civil engineering, construction, aeronautics and shipbuilding. The potential benefits of these materials are well known and numerous: mass reduction, integration of functions, cost reduction. However, they must also meet long-term durability criteria, and their optimal use under extreme environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, pollution) and stresses (static and dynamic loading) requires a validated methodology for characterizing and predicting in-use behavior.
