Packaging is an essential part of the response to the current challenges of more sustainable food consumption. Through its central role in preserving and conserving food, it helps to limit food loss and waste.

More than 100 million tonnes of food are lost every year in the European Union alone, representing almost 30% of agricultural production, with very negative consequences for the environment (high carbon footprint of these food losses, over-consumption of water and farmland, etc.)
